We have now set a date for our Tree planting ceremony. It will take place on Wednesday 14th March at Busy Bees in our rural studies and Forest School area. Tree planting will begin at 10am and will last approximately 2 hours, ending at 12pm. We plan to have a picnic lunch and there will be a soup kitchen open where you will be able to buy home-made soup and a roll if you would like to. Weather permitting, the fun will carry on into the afternoon.
Throughout the day there will be festive balloons, face painting, a cake stall, tea party, fancy dress and a raffle. We would like as many parents and friends as possible to attend the event. If you are able to join us you will have the opportunity to plant a tree with your child in our new Forest School area. We have approximately 60 trees which have been given to us by The Woodland Trust so that we can celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. This is a country wide event so if you would like to find out more about The Woodland Trust’s aim to plant 6 million trees in 2012 please click the link for school at woodlandtrust.org.uk
We would really appreciate any offers of voluntary help or donations to contribute towards the day. If you are able to donate balloons, raffle prizes, summer bedding plants or bulbs, or even make a cake for our bring and buy cake stall we would be very grateful. Please talk to your child’s class teacher or email me firstname.lastname@example.org
